Chris Childress

Store Manager

Chris Childress is the manager of Seaview Optical, a locally-owned company that has been providing quality eye care for over 30 years. Chris was born and raised in South Florida. He studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of Florida. Chris has been a part of the Seaview Optical family for over 20 years, as his sister was the store manager for 17 years before he took over as manager 8 years ago. Chris is an excellent leader who adores his hometown and takes special interest in the quality of life of the community.

Christopher Savage

Licensed Optician

Christopher Savage, aka Savage, is a licensed optician with 26 years of experience, including 8 years at Seaview Optical. Chris graduated from high school in Michigan in 1992 and then spent four years in the United States Navy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University. He studied opticianry at Hillsborough Community College in Virginia. Chris has been married for 23 years and has four teenagers who keep him very busy. He frequently attends their football and basketball games. Chris describes himself as semi-fluent in Spanish, crediting his Colombian wife for helping him develop that skill. He leads a full and active life, which includes his adorable pet cat, Bounce.

Optometric Technician

Cherline Janvier is one of Seaview Optical’s optometric technicians. Before joining Seaview Optical, she spent many years in healthcare, caring for seniors and the elderly in Pampano Beach, Florida. Cherline loves her current job and everyone she works with. She enjoys going to work every day and is eager to get to know and help everyone who walks through the doors at Seaview Optical. Cherline is a mother of three and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Palm Beach State College, making her a very busy, but fulfilled, woman.

Carrie Clarke

Optical Sales

Carrie Clarke is Seaview Optical’s resident optical dispenser. Her role at Seaview Optical requires someone with an eye for precision and accuracy, as well as a creative flair. Her job entails developing, customizing, replacing, and fitting optical aids based on the optometrist’s prescription, as well as replicating lens designs. Art is an important part of her life. With her background in jewellery design, she is certain to create unique frames for the people she serves. She has been happily married for over 20 years. She adores the ocean and loves swimming and snorkelling. She has been in close quarters with marine life such as sharks, turtles, and rays. Carrie remarks that at Seaview Optical “There is never a dull moment.”

Optical Laboratory Manager

Kenny Ferdinand has been working as the optical laboratory manager for Seaview Optical since 2021. He studied at Broward College to become an optician, but his true passion is the optical laboratory, where he has over fifteen years of experience. His extensive hands-on experience, attention to detail, and management skills have earned him the respect of his co-workers and made him an invaluable asset to the team. When he is not working, he enjoys watching sports and socializing with friends. Kenny is married and has a dog that he adores. Kenny strives to ensure customer satisfaction by using cutting-edge technology to create eyewear of unrivaled precision and quality.

Samantha Hernandez

Lead Optometric Technician

Samantha Hernandez has worked at Seaview Optical for five years as a certified Lead Optometric Technician. Samantha developed dynamic leadership and management skills in her previous roles at a chiropractor’s office and as an assistant store manager at a candy store. She is a graduate of Florida Career College with a degree in medical front office and billing. Samantha is married to her high school sweetheart who she absolutely adores. Her experience caring for her mother and grandmother has given her a unique ability to identify patients’ problems, devise solutions, and address concerns. She regards her time at Seaview Optical as a rewarding experience that provided her with the opportunity to work in the medical field. Her free time is spent fishing and enjoying the salty sea breeze along Florida’s coastline.

Dina Bobrow​

Optical Sales

Dina Bobrow was born in Taunton, Massachusetts. She has been an optician for 17 years and has worked at Seaview Optical for over two years. Her passion for optometry has been her driving force for many years. She opens the store every day and is usually the last to leave. She is passionate about what she does and is well-known for her ability to stylistically match the best eyeglass frames to various facial features. She is dedicated, energetic, and driven, as well as warm and endearing. Dina’s eight-year-old daughter is her world. She and her daughter are fascinated by everything aquatic, and love boating and swimming.
